Canon seems decide to make all EOS line-up featured with video. For those who search a value DSLR without any video recording, Canon will be no longer option for them.
Nikon will join the ‘value DSLR’ arena with the upcoming D4000, it will compete with Sony A230, Pentax K-m and Olympus E-620. Maybe Canon want to set a new standard, but as long as the movie feature increasing the price tag, the market will prefer D4000 more than 2000D somehow.

Video recording can come in handy some times. Not as a camcorder replacement, but just to take short little clips.
