For Pentax dSLR
- Pentax 40mm f/2.8 Limited pancake lens: Very small lens, almost negligible, great with Pentax k-m/k100. Image quality is very good, contrast and sharp with nice bokeh as well. Complete review: Pentax 40mm f/2.8
For Canon dSLR
- Canon EF 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM: Might not wide enough indoor in APC-S camera, image quality is average
- Canon EF 85mm f/1.8 USM: Great for portrait, great color and contrast, very fast auto focus, sturdy, great value. Lens review with video: Canon EF 85mm f/1.8
- Tamron 17-50mm f/2.8: I probably get bad copy, image is quite soft, hunting auto focus, image is noisy in high ISO, many reviewers talk highly about this lens.
- Canon EF-S 17-55mm f/2.8 IS USM: Very sharp at f/4 and awesome at f/5.6, excellent contrast, IS works wonderfully, AF is not very fast, great bokeh, the best lens for crop sensor camera. Built quality is no as high as its price. Lens comparison Canon 17-55mm and Tamron 17-50mm
- Canon EF 70-200mm f/4 IS USM: Lightweight, sharp at any aperture and focal length, IS is very helpful. Wish it has f/2.8 aperture. Lens review: Canon 70-200mm f/4 IS USM
- Canon 100mm f/2.8 MACRO USM: High contrast, fast auto focus, good for portrait as well. Lens review with video: Canon 100mm macro
- Canon EF 135mm f/2 USM: Very sharp and contrast even at f/2, focal length might not be ideal for crop sensor camera, really bad in tracking moving object. Lens review and video: Canon 135mm f/2
- Sigma 50mm f/1.4 HSM: Great image quality even at f/1.4, great AF speed, bulky but built quality is superb. Lens review: Sigma 50mm f/1.4
- Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8: Fast super wide angle, great built quality and sharp image, but ultra wide angle is not my favorite. Lens review with video: Tokina 11-16mm
For Nikon DSLR
- Sigma 24-70mm f/2.8 HSM: Compact, very well built, great image quality, great value. Lens review: coming soon
- Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 HSM MACRO II: fast AF, sharper than I expected, great bokeh, great value. Lens review with video: Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8
- Nikon 85mm f/1.4D: legendary lens, very sharp even at f/1.4, best bokeh, great for portrait but quite slow in auto focus. Lens review with video: Nikon 85mm f/1.4D
- Nikon 24mm f/2.8D: Simple and small lens, equiv to 35mm in crop sensor camera (classic focal length), AF is quite fast
- Nikon 50mm f/1.8D: Superb lens for the price, sharp from f/2.8 and beyond
- Lensbaby Muse: Hard to focus the lens, everything manual, nice shift effect
