Leica S system will be available in UK in October 2009. This system is a digital medium format camera system which is aprox. 56% bigger than full frame digital SLR camera. Leica has also announce the price for the new system.
For camera, it will be sold at $22,995 / £15,996. There are eight prime lenses introduces as well. They are 70mm, 120mm macro, 180mm and 35mm and their variations.
The price ranges from $4500 to $7500 a glass. Looking at the price, this system is for high-end professional studio works espeically commercial/ads and fashion photography. However, there are good news for amateurs or semi professionals. Leica will arrange leasing and renting program soon.
