Olympus E-P1 has been hailed for its noise control in high ISO. It is even some reports that the noise control is better than Olympus four third SLR cameras such as Olympus E-620. But is it true?

Fengniao.com shoots two images using Olympus E-P1 and E-620 and their respective kit lens 14-42mm. The website shoots two kinds of image, JPG and RAW.

Looking at JPG result, E-P1 is much cleaner than E-620 result. The image is clean from chroma (color) noises. But when we look at RAW pictures, the difference is minimal. Therefore, it is the noise suppressant software in camera which is better than Olympus E-620. If you use noise suppressant software such as RAW Therapee or Noise Ninja, it will yet similar result.
