New breed of low light compact camera
Sony WX1, the new Sony Cyber-shot might be one of the most exciting, queen of low light compact cameras. The reason why this compact is great in low light is because of the new EXMOR CMOS sensor. Observing from sample images, this sensor really make a different comparing to regular sensor.
Image at ISO 800 is very clean and at ISO 3200, image is still pretty good for small web use. It make most of DSLR cameras into shame. It also has twilight mode, which capture synthesizes six same images in different setting to get a smooth, detailed photo.
WX1’s 24-120mm (5X ) zoom lensĀ is quite versatile, it is able to cover a wide landscape scene, and the 120mm is long enough to take a good portrait shots or far away building. The maximum aperture of 2.4 is also better than most compact cameras out there.
The other interesting feature is the Panorama Swing. You can now make panorama picture very quickly by pressing shutter and swing your camera either vertical or horizontal. This is very convenient to use when you are traveling.
