Tamron is a very productive company in making lenses for digital SLR cameras. In the recent years, they are famous for bringing great value zoom lenses ideal for travel and general walk around. Here is the best selling Tamron lens and the reason why they are succesful.

Tamron lenses does have some disadvantages compared to original manufacturer lens such as slower and noisier auto focus speed, average image quality and sometimes has issue with quality control. But Tamron lenses provide a great value for money and leading in certain market such as super zoom lens for travel.

This 15X super zoom lens equivalent to 28-430mm in 35mm camera is very popular because of the zoom length. Many photographers who want to carry all-around lens for travel loves it. Currently, there is only a few competition for Tamron. The manufacturers such as Canon and Nikon only has lens up to 200mm. The only competition comes from Sigma, with their 18-250mm lens. This lens comes with compact package (101mm & 560 g) and vibration compensation feature to keep your image blur free.

Tamron 28-75mm /2.8 SP XR ZL Di LD ASPH IF Price: $385

This lens is popular because of the low maximum constant aperture and price. f/2.8 is very appealing for photographer especially for low light or to create shallow depth of field. This lens is compatible with either crop sensor camera or full frame camera. From the focal length, it is much better suited for full frame camera because in crop sensor camera, it won’t be wide enough in indoor situation.

Tamron 75-300mm f/4-5.6 LD Price: $125

It is one of the cheapest telephoto zoom lens in the market. Don’t expect any miracle on image quality or built quality, but for this price, you get a lot of value out of it.

Tamron 17-50mm f/2.8 XR Di-II SD SP ZL ASPH IF Price: $400

Like 28-75mm, this lens is popular because of the constant bright aperture. The design is compact and the price is reasonably cheap compared to Canon or Nikon lenses.This lens is not compatible with full frame DSLR camera.

Tamron 18-200mm f/3.5-6.3 XR Di II LD ASPH Price: $300

It is an shorter and affordable version of 18-270mm. The 10X zoom range is very versatile to use for travel. Unfortunately, it does not come with vibration compensation feature. So you need to hold your camera steady to keep image blur free especially when you use telephoto zoom or in low light situation.

Tamron 70-300mm f/4-5.6 Di LD Macro Price: $165

This is another popular and affordable telephoto zoom for wildlife or sport photography. It is approx. $50 more expensive than the 75-300mm, but it produces more quality images and has a better built quality.
