Pentax K-X – Super compact Pentax DSLR with video recording capabilities

As reported by Photo Rumors site, Pentax will announce Pentax K-X tomorrow. Pentax K-X has the same body as Pentax K-M (Pentax k2000). The size of the camera is very compact relative to other entry level DSLR cameras, and it allows one hand operation.

Looks could be deceiving, in that compact body, Pentax K-X has better specs than other beginner DSLRs.

Pentax k-x specifications:

  • 12.4 megapixel CMOS sensor
  • Built in Shake Reduction
  • 2.7 inch LCD Screen
  • Capture 4.7 fps continuous burst 1/6000 max shutter speed
  • Record 720p movie at 24fps
  • Auto HDR (the same as in Pentax flagship K7)
  • Use universal AA Batteries
  • Improved 11 AF points as in Pentax K7
  • ISO 100-6400, expandable to 12800
  • Available in four colors: Black, Red, White, Blue
