Sigma SD15 is announced almost one year ago (Fall 2008) in Photokina trade show, but it hasn’t been released until now. Photo Rumors reported that the a Scandinavian online store has the camera in the list for equivalent to US$ 1400.
Sigma SD15 is unique because it uses Foveon image sensor which is claimed to have amazing color, rich in gradation and impressive three-dimensional detail. SD15 will have TRUE II image processor which is faster than its predecessor. The processor will improve operating speed of the camera.

Sigma SD15 will compete with many tough competitors such as Pentax K7, Canon 50D, and Nikon D300.

When is this going to be available? I don’t want to buy anything else right now and be sorry I didn’t wait for this. I almost bought the SD 14 last year, but when I found out about this, I waited and waited. Hurry up already.
Instead of releasing this camera, they focused on the small DP1, DP2 and DP1s (rumor) instead. No further rumor about this camera. Sorry guys
