Canon S90 ISO noise comparison

Canon S90 ISO noise comparison

I got Canon S90 IS today and test it out for ISO comparison. I use large jpg, default setting, aperture of f/4, mounted on a tripod.

The new noise control algorithm is quite amazing for this small sensor camera. I’m pretty impressed with Canon S90’s image quality even in high ISO (1600-3200). Of course, there are some detail lost in highest ISO, but the image is still very vibrant and it is hard to differentiate between high iso image and low iso image unless you magnify it.

Good job for the engineers. Is this improvement keep going on, many people won’t need to carry big DSLR camera for low light situation anymore.
