Ricoh will announce compact camera with APS-C sensor

“Ricoh will have a presentation of a mirrorless APS-C camera on November 12th, 2009. The camera will be available in December 2009.”

This is very interesting news for Ricoh fans around the world. Ricoh is very well known at making advanced compact cameras. Ricoh camera’s has unique design and features that resemble DSLR cameras (two dials, customizable buttons, magnesium alloy body, etc.

Ricoh fans are waiting enthusiastically for Ricoh to put in big sensor into small compact camera. It is not clear whether Ricoh will put out interchangeable lens camera like micro four third system or fixed lens system like Ricoh GRD3 or Leica X1. Or.. they maybe they can do both?

From Photo Rumors, we also know that Ricoh is probably working with Pentax on this project, and it will be quite exciting for people who loves advanced compact camera because Pentax has many collection of high quality tiny pancake lenses.
