Pentax has announced their digital medium format camera for years. But seems like the egg is almost hatched. People from xitec forums (reported by photo rumors website) posted some images from Pentax 645D manual.
Medium format camera has twice bigger sensor. Image quality and details captured will be very high. It will be better than regular crop sensor DSLR or full frame format cameras. Pentax also has some MF lenses in the past that photographers can use.
There are a couple downsides of this camera though. The price and the body size might turn of many amateurs. Pentax 645D is not alone in medium format landscape. It will face tough competition with Hasselblad, Phased One, Mamiya, and Leica S2.

- 39 Megapixel
- Double SD card slots
- Initial sales only in Japan
