So you’ve got yourself a new Canon digital SLR camera, and now searching for accompanying accessories. Many accessories for DSLR cameras are useful, but many of them are not too. Here are some recommended / best accessories for your camera.

Battery / Vertical Grip
This grip is great because it takes lithium battery and also universal AA batteries. So, in a longer photography session, your camera power last longer. Battery grip also allow you to shoot vertically, which is great for portrait or sports. The other advantage of battery grip is it makes your camera more balanced when you mount heavier/longer lenses.
There are two kind of battery grip for Canon EOS Rebel cameras, original and third party grip like opteka. I’ve use the original one, and it is great, but Opteka battery grip is very similar, and it is cheaper plus you get two extra batteries.
Extra battery
One lithium battery should last for a typical shooting day, but if you are very active, or going for a long trip, I recommend you to get at least one extra battery.
Lens Pen
Nikon lens pens is very useful to clean up dust and fingerprint in front of your lens. It does not take a lot of space.
Canon Speedlite 430EX II
This external flash will help you tremendously when you are shooting indoor. It is also great for outdoor (as a fill flash) and creative photography. Why not using the smaller flash and built-in flash? Because you can swivel and direct the light with 430EX II. Don’t forget to get flash diffusers as well.
Remote Release
This is an important accessory when you love to do long exposure for night shots, self portrait and shooting from remote location. It is great for studio portrait session as well.
