So you’ve got Nikon D90, a very versatile Nikon camera and the first DSLR that able to record video. Here are some recommended accessories that might enhance your photographic experiences:
Nikon D90 battery grip by Zeikos
This battery grip can store 2 batteries. It is great for long trip. The battery grip will also very useful when you are shooting in portrait mode [check out the picture]. Nikon has the original battery grip, but this company, Zeikos offers the same grip a third of Nikon price.
Nikon EN-EL3e Rechargeable Li-Ion Battery
Extra batteries are crucial when you are on lenghty assignments such as wedding, or other all day coverage. Even you rarely shoot all day, I recommend to get one for back-up. The nice thing about this battery is it is compatible with higher end Nikon camera such as Nikon D200, D300, D700. So if you have these camera or plan to upgrade later, you can use the battery interhangeably.
Nikon ML-L3 Wireless Remote Control
This tiny wireless remote control is simple (only one button) and works great. When you press the button, your camera will auto focus and take a shot automatically. To activate it, you need to switch your camera to remote release mode. It is very helpful for certain situation such as self portrait or long exposure photography. This remote control is compatible with Nikon D90, D40, D40x, D60, and D80.
Nikon Lens Pen
It might be the best portable cleaning solution. It has two sides. One side brushes away dust, the other side smudge away fingerprints.
Nikon Speedlite SB600
This automatic (TTL) flash will light up the room or faces. Very useful for creative lighting system D90 has. The size and weight fits D90 well.
Transcend 8GB SD Card Class 6
I have used Transcend cards for a while, and they are as reliable as more well-known brand such as Sandisk or Lexar. 8 GB card is adequate for D90 for both still photography and video recording.
Induro panhead Tripod
If you like to record video, then I highly recommend this tripod. It has a very sturdy built (magnesium alloy) but also lightweight and easy to handle. The good news is Induro tripod does not cost arms and leg like Manfrotto or Gitzo.
I hope this is informative and happy shooting. Please share your favorite accesories for Nikon D90.Related Post:
