by Enche Tjin on December 12, 2009

DXOmark labs recently published lab test result for advanced DSLR cameras, Canon EOS 7D, Nikon D300s and Pentax K7. Nikon D300 produces the best overall score (69.8) followed by Canon 7D (64.9) and Pentax K7 (61).

Nikon D300s trumps Canon and Pentax in color depth and dynamic range, while Canon 7D have very small advantage in high ISO image compared to Nikon D300s. This is quite surprising because Canon 7D has 18 megapixel and Nikon D300s only has 12 megapixel. Usually camera that have higher pixel count will have poorer image in high ISO setting.

Image quality is one of important factors to consider when you buy a camera, but there are also many other factors you need to consider such as image resolution, continuous shooting speed and ultimately value for money. So is Nikon D300s is the best advanced camera? [Read: Best Advanced camera 2009] and [Duel of the powerhouses]
