Three street photographers from Europe (Pavel, Wouter and Cristian Sorega) have chance to try out Ricoh GXR (not Ricoh GRX) and S12 (50mm f/2.5 macro) for several days. Unfortunately they don’t find it very attractive for dynamic street photography.
Here are some stuff they don’t like about this combo:
- LCD Freeze when half press the shutter button
- Auto focus is slow and inaccurate occasionally
- Visible banding at ISO 3200
Despite that, they like the built and image quality of this camera. What interesting for me is Wouter and Cristian admit that they like Panasonic GF1 and 40mm f/1.7 a lot more in term of performance. Please check their full impression with photos out yourself.
