Hoodman HoodLoupe 3.0 short review

by Enche Tjin on January 10, 2010

Hoodman HoodLoupe is a favorite tool for landscape or outdoor photographer. It allows you too view rear LCD screen without reflection cause by strong sun light.

The inner part of the hood is probably built from metal, and it is coated with rubber. The soft rubber prevent it to scratch your LCD screen and help to reduce the weight. It also has textured grip on the top and bottom of the Hoodloupe which is great. I think it can withstand rough and tumble of outdoor photography.

The lens is big, clear and accurate to view pictures in LCD screen. Unfortunately the lens is slightly convex. This is worsen if you wear glasses like me. It comes with handy and protective pouch, which is very good quality. The zipper is excellent and you can clip the pouch to your belt.

Overall, it is very light, and practical to use. Highly recommended for outdoor and landscape photography.
