At a glance, A450 has components of higher-end model, Sony A550, but with stripped down feature. It has the same sensor as the A550, and 5-7 fps continuous shooting. But it does not have tilt LCD and secondary sensor for quick auto focus in live view mode.
Sony A450 is a nice addition for beginners or experienced photographers who want a simple DSLR camera with great image quality and responsiveness.
People that consider this camera will also consider Sony A500, which has inferior sensor but has tilt-able LCD and fast AF in live view. A450 will also compete with Canon T1i and Nikon D5000.
