Olympus introduces 75-300mm lens and a new lens roadmap

by Enche Tjin on August 31, 2010

Olympus introduces two new lenses: 14-150mm f/4-5.6 and 75-300mm f/4.8-6.7. The 75-300mm is equivalent to 150-600mm equivalent to full frame camera. This lens remarkable because it weighs only 430 g and has a diameter of 7 cm and 11.6 cm in length. It is approx. 200 g lighter and 1.1 cm shorter than  Olympus 70-300mm f/4-5.6, which is popular Olympus lens for classic four third system DSLR camera.

Olympus really capitalizes small sensor and mirrorless camera design and make it happen. This lens will be great for travel and wildlife photography in day light. Because it has silent focusing motor, it is also suitable for video recording.

Olympus also releases a new lens road map for 2011, which include 8mm fisheye lens, 50mm macro lens, and 14mm wide angle prime lens.
