Olympus announces Olympus XZ-1 advanced compact camera

Olympus finally releases their first advanced compact camera today in Consumer Electronic Show 2011. This advanced compact will compete with others such as Canon S90, Panasonic LX5, Samsung EX1, etc.

The XZ-1 is special because it is has very high quality ZUIKO lens, 28-112mm f/1.8-2.5. Which is the brightest so far and has more versatile focal length. It also employs 1/1.63 size sensor, which is equal to Panasonic LX5, and slightly bigger than Samsung or Canon advanced compact (1/1.7).

It has simple design and slim size, make it easier to carry around compare to Canon G series or Nikon p7000.

Like many other advanced compact camera, XZ-1 offers full manual control, capable to shoot RAW image, and has a hot shoe port. Unlike other advanced compact, Olympus also add additional Accessories port, so that you can mount electronic viewfinder, microphone,  macro Arm Light, etc.

So far, XZ-1 is the most advanced compact available in the market. It is ideal for people who want compact and slim camera for everyday use, especially for low light condition.
