Canon 1DX is a new speed demon

by Enche Tjin on October 18, 2011

Recently announced Canon 1Dx is a speed demon. It has new DIGIC V processor, shoots up to 12 fps or 14 fps with mirror up and JPG only. It also boast a huge ISO range, from 100-512000 (expandable to 50-204800).

ID-X is a new flagship Canon DSLR cameras, replacing both 1Ds series (optimized for high image resolution) and 1D series (optimized for speed). 1DX compromise on resolution, which stays on 18 MP (Canon 5D mark 2 has 21 MP).

Canon 1DX will competes strongly with Nikon D3s or maybe the future Nikon D4. 1DX is great  for sports photography and photojournalism. Unfortunately, this camera will be available approx. three to four months from now.

Nikon is rumored to announce its full frame camera, Nikon D800 later this month. Ironically, D800 might has big image resolution of 36 MP. With that resolution, images in high ISO is predictably won’t as good as 1DX’s images. Other camera to wait for before the end of the year is Canon 5D mark III and Nikon D400.
