Olympus launches new walk-around lens for micro four thirds system. This lens is olympus 12-50mm f/3.5-6.3 macro. This lens will be optically better and more versatile than kit lens 14-42mm. It doesn’t has image stabilization because Olympus cameras already have built in stabilizer. It has power zoom design so zooming when recording video will be smooth. Unfortunately, the size of the lens is a lot longer than Panasonic X 14-42mm lens. Weighing at 211g, it is fairly light lens.
Many enthusiasts and pros will be a bit disappointed because they expect lens with bigger aperture. Hopefully Panasonic X lenses such as 12-35mm will have bigger aperture to satisfy their wants.
