Panasonic 12-35mm f/2.8 is a first pro quality zoom lens for micro four thirds system. There are many cool things about this lens:

1. It has big (f/2.8), constant aperture in a popular focal length
2. Relatively small and light = 300g (10oz) 73.8g (2.9inch) long
3. The first “pro/high quality” zoom lens for micro four thirds system camera
4. Have optical image stabilization
5. Have splash/dust proof design
6. Very fast auto focus speed

From the features above, Panasonic 12-35mm is better than many equivalent zoom lens for DSLR cameras (24-70mm f/2.8 or 17-55mm f/2.8). The price is a bit high at $1299, but it makes sense consider the quality you’ll get. It will be a great match with micro four thirds system camera such as Panasonic GX1, Panasonic GH2, Olympus OMD EM-5 or Olympus PEN E-P3.
