Fuji XPRO-1 new lenses roadmap

by Enche Tjin on June 25, 2012

Fuji has announces their plan for next seven lenses for XPRO camera system. Fujifilm XPRO-1 has been popular amongs enthusiasts photographers who loves compact, rangefinder style camera. Fuji designes its own sensor and according to the review, image quality is as good as image from full frame DSLR camera such as Canon 5D mk2 even though the size of the sensor is only APS-C.

Fuji XPRO Roadmap

Two more lenses in 2012:

  • Fuji 14mm f/2.8 (equiv. 21mm) – wide angle for landscape
  • Fuji 18-55mm f/2.8-4 OIS (equiv. 27-84mm) – general zoom lens

Five more in 2013

  • Fuji 56mm f/1.4 (84mm) – great for portraiture
  • Fuji 27mm f/2.8 (41mm) pancake design
  • Fuji 23mm f/1.4 (35mm) – great for street photography / general daily use
  • Fuji 55-200mm f/3.5-4.8 OIS (83-300mm)
  • Fuji 10-24mm f/4 OIS (15-36mm) – great for landscape/travel

Prime / fix lenses dominates the roadmap because it is easier to design fix lens with optimum image quality. However, there are some practical zoom lenses too such as superwide 10-24mm, 18-55mm and 50-200mm.

Most of the lenses looks compact and great complement to Fuji XPRO-1 camera. I personally like 10-24mm and 56mm f/1.4 :)
