Canon T4i is the newest upper entry level DSLR Camera. It is the first camera that feature phase detection autofocus in live mode and touchscreen LCD. T4i is successor to a very successful Canon Rebel line that is intended for beginners. Beside improved autofocus and touchscreen LCD, T4i (650D) has 9 AF cross type autofocus, shoots five frame per second, and built-in HDR. Those are features of higher-end Canon EOS cameras.

Amateur videographer will also be delighted because autofocus in live view mode is smoother than before. To get the best out of it, you need to get Canon STM lenses. There are currently two STM lenses: 18-135mm STM and 40m f/2.8 STM.
