Sigma also introduces a new concept in categorizing the lens. Sigma divides new lenses into three categories to make it easier for prospective buyers to get the lens they need. Here there are:

  • Contemporary: Practical, all around, compact and lightweight lenses : Sigma 17-70mm f/2.8-4 DC Macro OS.
  • Art: Lenses for artist in you. Most of these lenses are fix lenses with large aperture : Sigma 35mm f/1.4. Macro lens, tilt-shift, fish eye, will belong in this category.
  • Sports: super long telephoto lens, ideal for sports and wildlife photos. Example: Sigma 120-300mm f/2.8 OS HSM
Sigma 120-300mm f/2.8 versatile lens for sports and wildlife

In addition to introducing the above three categories, Sigma also promises a higher quality control.
