by Enche Tjin on January 31, 2013

CP+ camera and photo imaging show in Japan (31th January – 2nd February 2013) gives us many new lenses. Here is the compilation and what I think about them.

Panasonic 14-42mm f/3.5-5.6 II ASPH Mega OIS
Improved small, lighweight zoom lens for entry level micro four thirds system.

Tamron 14-150mm f/3.5-5.8 Di III VC
Flexible zoom lens for micro four thirds system (equivalent to 18-300mm in 35mm fullframe sensor). Still prototype, but this versatile lens will be popular among users going for vacation and only want to carry one lens.

Olympus 75-300mm f/4.8-6.7 II 429g, 117mm, m43 system
Long telephoto lens (equiv. 150-600mm) for capturing far away subjects such as mountains, birds. It is an update from previous generation. Olympus promises better images by eliminating flare and ghosting.

Tokina 70-200mm f/4 VCM-S FX
Pro quality telephoto zoom lens without passing 1 kg barrier. One of the first Tokina lens to feature stabilization (VCM-S). This is good alternative of Canon 70-200mm f/4 IS L and recently announced Nikon 70-200mm f/4 VR.

Tokina 12-28mm f/4 DC
New high quality wide angle lens that replace the old Tokina 12-24mm f/4. Only for DSLR with APS-C sized sensor.

Sigma 30mm f/1.4 DC
This is also an updated lens designed for DSLR with APS-C sized sensor. It will give point of view similar to 50mm (standard focal length). The new design looks sleek and modern.

Sigma 60mm f/2.8 macro DN
Compact and sleek lens for mirrorless system (Olympus, Panasonic and Sony)

Sigma 19mm f/2.8 DN
Compact lens for mirrorless system, will range around 28.5mm – 38mm depending which camera you mount it to. It may be a very sharp and sleek lens, but unfortunately f/2.8 is not very popular for prime lens. Usually photographers expect f/1.8 or f/1.4 for prime/fixed focal lens.

Sigma 30mm f/2.8 DN
Another compact lens for mirrorless system (equiv. to 50-60mm depending which camera you mount it to

Sony 18-200mm PZ f/3.5-5.6 OSS
Versatile, powered zoom lens for Sony NEX system. Videographer will love the smooth zoom. $1198

Sony 20mm f/2.8
Very small (pancake) prime lens for Sony NEX system. $348, only 69 g

Nikon AF-S 18-35mm f/3.5-5.6 FX
Nikon compact (385 g) wide angle lens for Nikon full frame (FX) camera. Very suitable for Nikon D600 considering size and weight. Price: $745

Nikon AF-S 800mm f/5.6 VR FX
Massive telephoto zoom lens. Will set u back $17,000+ :)

Total:
8 lenses for mirrorless system
2 lenses for APS-C sized DSLR sensor
2 lenses for FX DSLR sensor
